Life during the Hamidian massacres

Be born in a place it hit, a few years before it began, and see what it did to five ordinary lives.

What it meant for ordinary people

Under Sultan Abdul Hamid II, Armenians in eastern Anatolia and Constantinople were killed in waves of massacres. The simulation spreads the effect across the population of the area; for Armenians the risk was far higher.

Deaths: about 100,000 to 300,000 Armenians.

How hard it hits each person in the game (risk of death, of being conscripted, of leaving) comes from scholarly estimates.
