1360–1400
Life during the Return of the plague
Be born in a place it hit, a few years before it began, and see what it did to five ordinary lives.
What it meant for ordinary people
After the Black Death, plague came back every decade or so. The outbreak of 1361 was called the children's plague because it killed so many born since 1348. These returns kept populations low for over a century.
Deaths: the outbreak of 1361–1363 alone killed perhaps 10 to 20 percent in many places, many of them children.
How hard it hits each person in the game (risk of death, of being conscripted, of leaving) comes from scholarly estimates.
